Sporting goods drive ends June 18, so please donate today!
If you’ve been reading the Abaco Sun for a while, you no doubt know about Shelby Hires, the eight-year-old Tequesta, FL girl who’s on a mission to help Abaco children affected by Hurricane Dorian in September 2019.

In August 2020, Shelby assembled and sent 260 fully loaded back-to-school backpacks to kids in northern Abaco.
For Christmas 2020, she sent 155 stockings and more than 220 Christmas gifts to children in Abaco.
In Spring 2021, she collected bedding and towels to help Dundas Town families.
Now, Shelby is participating in a sporting goods drive to purchase items for 2,500 Abaco kids, many of whom lost their own toys and sports equipment to Dorian.
The drive ends June 18, 2021, so kids will have their new sports equipment for the coming summer.

Please help Shelby achieve her goal by:

- Purchasing items from the Shelby’s Mission Amazon Wish List (be sure to choose Shelby’s Mission as the delivery address so purchases will be sent directly to her.)
- Contributing to Shelby’s Mission’s GoFundMe page
- Making donations using Venmo (see included QR code) or through Zelle at email address chery.hires@gmail.com
- Sharing this post with anyone who might be interested in contributing either funds or new sporting goods.
Thank you again to Shelby and her amazing mom Chery for their tireless dedication to helping our Abaco family and friends, and thank you to Abaco Freight for transporting all of Shelby’s Mission’s donations!
