Affiliate Program Disclosure participates in the Amazon Associates Program and the Expedia Group Affiliate Program.

AAP is an affiliate advertising program that enables websites to earn commissions by advertising and linking to

What this means is that occasionally, while writing about a product, I may include an Amazon link to that item.

If you click the link and ultimately buy the item, Amazon will send me a small percentage (normally about 2-4%) of the sale price as a commission.

It’s important that you know that there is no cost to you. Items cost exactly the same (and all Amazon return and shipping policies remain the same) whether you click through a link here at or search them out on Amazon independently.

Similar to the AAP, the Expedia Group Travel Affiliate Program enables websites to earn commissions by advertising and linking to Expedia, VRBO, and other related sites.

Occasionally, I may include a link to these sites here on the blog. Should you click through and ultimately book a trip, hotel stay, vacation property, etc., the Expedia Group will provide me with a small percentage of the total cost as a referral fee.

There is no cost to you. Trips, hotel stays and vacation rentals cost and function exactly the same whether you click through a link here at or search out the same item on Expedia, VRBO, etc. on your own.

Let’s be honest – commissions from these programs are modest. I don’t imagine they’ll be buying Tom and me a house on Tahiti Beach or a convertible Jaguar (my dream car) any time soon. So why participate?

There are a lot of costs associated with operating, including domain name registration, web hosting and security, software, plug-ins, research accounts and much more. Participating in these affiliate programs helps defray some of these expenses – at no cost to you or me.

Since I launched this blog in 2013, my key objective has been to introduce Abaco to new visitors, and to give Abaco lovers, second homeowners and residents the information they need to maximize their Abaco experience. I assure you that’s not going to change.

And I hope it goes without saying — but I’ll say it anyway — that I will only ever include affiliate links to items that Tom and/or I have purchased/used ourselves, and/or would have recommended anyway.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask.
