  • OK Amanda – you’ve got me stumped. Don’t know that I’ve seen a Bermuda cherry before. Are they edible once the ripen or just ornamental?

    • And – then – I saw and clicked on the link you provided. They are edible! I’ll have to watch for them next time I visit and hope they are ripe. I’ll also check locally to see if anyone makes and sells jelly/jam. Are they used in baking at all? Cobbler, pie, dried and added to sweet bread?

    • They are edible, but generally very tart! Much more so than regular cherries. We used to eat them as kids, but I’m not sure many people cook with them… I do know they’re very high in vitamin C, though.
