Important Revisions to Bahamas COVID-19 Travel Protocols

In recent weeks, the Bahamian government has announced several important changes to the COVID-19 protocols for individuals travelling to the Bahamas by air or sea. Changes include:

  • If you’re fully vaccinated, you must obtain a negative COVID-19 test (Rapid Antigen or RT-PCR) taken no more than 72 hours prior to your arrival in the Bahamas.
  • AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria/Covishield), Janseen (Johnson & Johnson), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), Sinopharm, Covaxin or Sinovac are the only vaccines acceptable at this time.
  • If you’re not fully vaccinated, you must obtain a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR Test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival.
  • Non-Bahamian citizens and non-residents must still obtain an International Travel Health Visa to enter the country. This requirement no longer applies to Bahamian citizens or legal residents.
  • A Travel Health Visa is no longer required for inter-island travel within The Bahamas.
  • Vaccinated or not, anyone remaining in the Bahamas for longer than 48 hours must take a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test on Day 2 of their stay.
  • Unvaccinated travellers must complete a short Daily Health Questionnaire for the duration of their stay (to a maximum of 14 days.)
