A quiet late summer afternoon on Hope Town’s ocean beach.

If you dislike crowds and don’t mind a bit of extra humidity, late summer and fall are a great awesome time to visit Abaco. The streets are quiet and you’ll have those gorgeous white-sand beaches to yourself.

That said, this is also the time that some local businesses and attractions close to give staff time off to rest and rejuvenate, undertake repairs and renovations, and in some cases, prepare for the peak of hurricane season.

In recent days, we surveyed Abaco business owners and have pulled together a preliminary list of Fall 2026 closure dates. We’ll be adding to the list as new information comes in, so check back regularly.

Note that some businesses that remain open may work on a reduced schedule during this time. It’s always a good idea to confirm hours in advance during the off season.

And if your Abaco business isn’t included on this list, please email the relevant details to editor@abacosun.com.
