You’re invited to join the residents of Man-O-War Cay on the weekend of November 11-13 as they commemorate the 200th anniversary of their settlement’s founding.
Friday night, November 11, will be an evening of praise and thanksgiving starting at 7:00 pm at the old Methodist Church.
The program will include performances by local gospel singers and a community sing-a-long. Light refreshments will be available.
On Saturday, November 12, a full day of festivities kicks off with an opening ceremony at 10:00 am, and the unveiling of a plaque commemorating Man-O-War’s bicentennial.
The day’s events will include the launch of a boat-building museum at Joe’s Studio, demonstrations of rope-making and other skills, and a display of Man-O-War-built boats.
There will also be an arts and crafts show, and of course, lots of tasty Bahamian food and homemade ice cream available for purchase.
On Sunday the 13th, parishioners from Man-O-War’s three churches and their guests will unite for a community-wide service at 11:00 am at the New Life Bible Church.
For those planning to attend bicentennial events on Saturday, November 12, the 9:00 am G&L Ferry from Marsh Harbour will get you to Man-O-War in time for the opening ceremony.
Hope to see you there!
