On Saturday, July 1, Abaco Strong is holding a 50th Bahamas Independence Day Celebration event at the Bahama Beach Club between 5pm and 7pm.
The event, which will include cocktails, appetizers, live music and activities for children, will raise funds to support Abaco Strong and its Breakfast for Children program.
With local Abaco families still recovering economically from the double blow of Hurricane Dorian and the global pandemic, many struggle to put food on the table.
Since a healthy breakfast is vital to health and learning, Abaco Strong’s Breakfast for Children program provides a nutritious breakfast for almost 200 primary school children in North Abaco.
Breakfast for Children is just one of a number of Abaco Strong initiatives, which have included a post-Dorian home repair program, their Sleep Soundly Abaco program which distributed more than 300 beds for families in need, the restoration of Treasure Cay Beach, support for Abaco Youth Baseball, community cleanups, their Backyard Farmers program, the Treasure Cay Community garden and more.
