NAGB Call for Abaco Artists and their Playlists

The National Art Gallery of the Bahamas, which had planned an Inter-island Travelling Exhibit (ITE) in Abaco this fall, has had to pivot due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of a physical show, they’re assembling a virtual exhibit.

Photo collage by Abaco artist, Leanne Russell, as part of an exhibit entitled A Burning For Home, in which artists explored emotions manifested by Hurricane Dorian’s destruction.

For the first virtual ITE, entitled “From Time: Water Has a Perfect Memory,” the NAGB has put out a call for artists in Abaco to submit photographs of their work. The gallery is also asking artists what music motivates or inspires them as they work.

Abaco artists are encouraged to submit images of a work of their choice, along with songs they listen to while in creative mode.

Please send submissions to zmunroe@nagb.org.bs no later than 11:59pm on Sunday, November 22, 2020.

And feel free to share this post with any Abaco artists who might be interested.
