They said they’d do it, and they did. Congratulations to the entire team at Maxwell’s Supermarket & Home Store in Marsh Harbour on meeting their goal to reopen the store yesterday.

Not surprisingly, after eight weeks without a grocery store, Marsh Harbour residents were eager to get shopping. I understand that parking spaces and shopping carts were nearly impossible to find.

As evidenced by these recent videos posted on Maxwell’s Facebook page, they’re well-stocked with fresh produce, dairy, meats and dry goods. Though I’m told a few sections have moved around, overall, the store looks much like it always has.
In addition to groceries, Maxwell’s shoppers will have access to the store’s furniture department, as well as a pharmacy, a small Commonwealth Bank branch and offices for Frederick’s Agency, BTC and Cable Bahamas, all of which are – or will soon be – open at the store.
Store hours for today and tomorrow are 9am to 3pm. Hours for days subsequent to that will be announced soon.
Access to groceries, furniture and services is so important to Abaco’s recovery. Thanks to the entire Maxwell’s team for all their hard work and congratulations on a successful re-launch!
UPDATE – November 9th – Maxwell’s Supermarket & Home Store will be open 9am-1pm on Sunday, November 10th, and 9am-3pm Monday, November 11th to Wednesday, November 13th. Subsequent hours to be announced soon.
