I’ll be the first to admit this story has absolutely nothing to do with Abaco, but I hope you’ll find it as fascinating and inspirational as I do.

If you live in central Washington state, go outside shortly after 10:00 a.m. and look up. You might just spot the second launch of the Yeungstuff Space Program.
Loki Lego Launcher 2.0, the ballooncraft that will be launched at approximately 10:00 a.m. P.D.T., was created by Rebecca and Kimberly Yeung, daughters of my friends Winston and Jen.You can follow the progress of today’s flight HERE and HERE.
Since launching the first Loki Lego Launcher last summer, the girls have been revising designs, creating new mission goals and doing lots of testing and experimenting.

That’s in addition to going to school, conducting media interviews about their original launch, visiting NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA and the Kennedy Space Center in Florida (that’s close to Green Turtle Cay, right…?) and giving keynote speeches at conferences.

They also traveled to Washington, D.C. earlier this year to participate in the White House Science Fair, where they got to present their Loki Lego Launcher project to President Obama!
Rebecca and Kimberly have documented their experiences to date on their Loki Lego Launcher blog.
I hope you’ll check it out and follow their progress, both today and over time. I have a feeling they have great futures ahead.
