Though our Loyalist ancestors didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving, American visitors and second-homeowners have, over the years, introduced the tradition to Green Turtle Cay. Today, a number of restaurants on the cay will offer special Thanksgiving menus.

Harvey’s Island Grill is serving a traditional roast turkey dinner complete with all the traditional sides and, naturally, pumpkin pie for dessert. Though reservations are not required, I’d strongly suggest making one. Call Harvey’s at (242) 365-4389, visit their Facebook page or hail them on VHF Ch 16.
In addition to deep-fried turkey and fixings, the Green Turtle Club is offering a number of other delicious-sounding Thanksgiving specials. Reservations are recommended — see below for contact info.

Starting at 6:00 pm, you can enjoy a four-course Thanksgiving dinner at the Tranquil Turtle at Bluff House. Here are the delicious details.

Also at 6:00 pm, Green Turtle Cay’s Festival of Lights Family Fun Night at Settlement Point will cap off the day and kick off the holiday season with food, games, activities for the whole family and, of course, the lighting of the Christmas decorations all through town.

Wherever and however you spend today, Happy Thanksgiving from Tom, Wrigley and me.

I hope your Thanksgiving was a special day for you, too!
Thanks, Linda. We had a lovely, quiet Thanksgiving. Tom had the day off, so that was a treat. xo
