If you’ve ever dined at Green Turtle Cay’s Harvey’s Island Grill or shopped at Turtley Convenient, you likely know Stephanie Charlton. She’s energetic and outgoing, with a terrific sense of humour. And she’s always willing to lend a hand.

Now, Stephanie needs help and I’m hoping some Abaco Sun readers will lend her a hand.
In September 2019, after her house sustained extensive damage, Stephanie was forced to relocate to Nassau. Since returning to Green Turtle Cay in January 2021, she’s worked tirelessly to repair her home.
Recently, Stephanie, her daughter, and her mother Val contracted Covid-19. Stephanie and her daughter were able to successfully fight and recover from the virus. Val was not. Sadly, succumbed to her illness August 17.
Exactly two weeks later, on August 31, a fire broke out at Stephanie’s recently repaired home. Fortunately, Green Turtle Cay’s Volunteer Fire Department was able to respond and promptly put out the flames, but not before Stephanie’s kitchen was destroyed.
To help ease Stephanie’s significant financial burden, her good friend Lisa Farrington has established a GoFundMe page.
Funds raised will be used to repair the fire damage to Stephanie’s home, cover some of her mother’s funeral expenses and replace some of the income Stephanie lost during her Covid isolation and quarantine.
Please contribute to the GoFundMe page if you can. Any help you’re able to give — a little or a lot — would be greatly appreciated by Stephanie and all who know and love her.
