The Bahamian government yesterday announced several new testing requirements for visitors and residents applying for health visas for travel to or within the country.
Changes include:

- Effective Friday, August 6th, fully vaccinated travellers wishing to enter The Bahamas must present a negative COVID-19 test result (Rapid Antigen or PCR test, taken no more than five days prior to travel) when applying for a travel health visa.
- Similarly, fully vaccinated residents or visitors travelling domestically from the islands of New Providence, Grand Bahama, Bimini, Exuma, Abaco and Eleuthera (including Harbour Island) will also need to present a negative COVID-19 test result (Rapid Antigen or PCR test, taken no more than five days prior to travel) when applying for a Bahamas travel health visa.
- Children between 2 and 11 years, vaccinated or not, travelling internationally or domestically, must now present a negative COVID-19 test result (Rapid Antigen or PCR test) taken no more than five days prior to travel, when applying for a travel health visa. Children under two years old are exempt from this requirement.
- Travellers entering The Bahamas via cruise ship are subject to cruise line testing protocols, which have been approved by Bahamian authority.
