After Hurricane Dorian, I suspended my Daily Photo feature. Honestly, it was painful to be reminded of Abaco the way it was before the storm. And it felt somehow dishonest to showcase an Abaco that no longer existed.
Over the past months, however, several readers have asked if/when the Daily Photo feature might be resurrected. And to tell you the truth, I’m glad. I’ve been missing my daily doses of Abaco, and it sounds like maybe some of you have, too.
So, yes, let’s start posting daily photos again!
For the most part, I’d like to feature images taken post-Dorian. It’s important to show potential visitors that Abaco is as naturally beautiful as it ever was. And to recognize the hard work, heart and heroism of Abaconians and volunteers as they rebuild Abaco.
I’ve got some photos taken earlier of the year, but Covid-19’s had me stuck in L.A. since March.
So….. I’d be incredibly grateful for some help from those of you who are in, or have recently been to, Abaco.
Do you have photos taken in Abaco post-Dorian that highlight the area’s beauty, or the strength and resilience of Abaconians that you’d be willing to share with LHBTF readers?
Whether it’s a stunning sunset, a bougainvillea bush in full bloom, a new building under construction, a business owner stocking shelves for the first time, or a local hero at work, let’s document Abaco’s recovery and celebrate those who are making it happen.
Please email photos to amanda (at) littlehousebytheferry (dot) com and be sure to put “Reader Photos” in the subject line of the email.
Let me know where the photo was taken, who’s in it, and who should get credit for taking it.
And if you’ve got a business or personal website or Facebook page you’d like me to link to, by all means, please include that as well.

So glad you have decided to resurrect the daily photos. I am among those who have missed that daily treat in my email box. Thanks!
Thanks, Gayle. Hope you’re doing well.
