Since a few readers have asked, I did a little digging and discovered that yes, prints of selected works by Bahamian artist and Green Turtle Cay native, Alton Lowe, are available for sale on the cay.

You’ll find Alton’s prints, which make elegant souvenirs and great gifts, at the Albert Lowe Museum, located in the heart of the New Plymouth settlement. They range in price from $45 to $65 and, in some cases, are signed, limited editions.
Reflecting Alton’s passion for Bahamian life and culture, his works depict historic or traditional island scenes. His paintings are housed in private art collections worldwide (including those of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana), and have been featured on numerous commemorative Bahamian postage stamps.

Thanks Amanda. My ‘Bahama Family Room’ walls in Gresham, Oregon, show Alton’s painted scenes to me. To all who come to visit, I introduce Green Turtle Cay, Abaco.
I love the one of his Dad in the dinghy. I remember his Daddy!
Sadly, I didn’t get to meet Albert Lowe. Glad I get to hear his stories (and stories about him) from Alton, Vertrum, Leonard and Iva!
