Bahamas Drops COVID Testing Requirements, Mask Mandate

Over the past few days, the Bahamian government announced several major changes to the country’s COVID-19 protocols.

On Wednesday, 21 September, Prime Minister Brave Davis announced that, based on recommendations by the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Health & Wellness, the mask mandate in the Bahamas would be dropped effective 1 October.

However, he cautioned, masks would still be required in schools, healthcare facilities and senior care homes for the time being.

On 22 September, the Ministry of Health and Wellness announced that, effective immediately, the COVID-19 testing requirement for entering The Bahamas has been dropped. Regardless of nationality or vaccination status, travellers are no longer required to submit COVID-19 test results to enter the country. The same applies to anyone travelling domestically within the country.
