HOW TO BOOK AN AD IN ABACO SUN MAGAZINE

1. Print and complete an Ad Insertion Order Form:

  • Provide all relevant contact information for your business.
  • Select ad size. Review the available ad sizes and determine which works best for your business and budget.
  • Decide how many insertions you wish to book. If you book and make deposits for two or more insertions at once, you’ll receive a 15% discount off your entire order, provided full payment for each insertion is received prior to that issue’s close date. And if you book and make deposits for a year’s worth (3 insertions) of ads prior to our Winter 2023 issue close date (November 15, 2022), you’ll receive a 4th insertion for free.
  • Calculate ad rate. Multiply the number of insertions you’ve chosen times the rate per insertion shown on the insertion order form. (If you’re booking 2 or more insertions at once, be sure to use the discounted rate shown in the “2+ insertions” column.)
  • Be sure to sign your Ad Insertion Order Form
  • Email your completed, signed Ad Insertion Order Form to amanda@abacosun.com or send via WhatsApp at (626) 487-8085.

2. Pay a 50% deposit to hold your space. Payments may be made as follows:

  • PayPal (send payment to amanda@abacosun.com)
  • Bank deposit or wire (account info and wiring instructions available upon request)
  • U.S. or Bahamian cheque

3. If you have an existing ad that meets our technical specifications, email it to amanda@abacosun.com. If you checked “I need an ad created” on your order form, we’ll be in touch.

4. We’ll invoice you for the balance owing for each insertion. Remaining balance is due prior to the final close date for each issue.

SUPPLYING YOUR OWN AD ARTWORK? HERE ARE OUR TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

You don’t have to be a graphic designer – or hire one – to advertise in Abaco Sun. We’re happy to produce your ad at no charge. For those wishing to supply camera-ready artwork, however, here are our technical requirements:

  • Page size is 8.5″ by 11″. Keep text and important materials within safe area of 7.5″ by 10″.
  • All supplied materials must be submitted in high-resolution as digital files. They can be emailed to amanda@abacosun.com or we can arrange for you to upload to Dropbox.   
  • Accepted file formats include JPG, TIFF, EPS and PDF.
  • All colour images must be CMYK and at least 300 DPI at 100% of final print size.
  • All black and white images must be grayscale and at least 300 DPI at 100% of final print size.
  • Do not use RGB or spot colours, as files containing these will be converted to CMYK, which may cause an undesired shift in colour appearance.
  • Do not upsample the resolution of images by manually changing the DPI in Photoshop as this can cause a pixelated, blurry or lower quality image.
  • PDF settings: embed all fonts, use no transparency.
  • EPS settings: convert all fonts to outlines or supply all font files.
  • TIFF settings: use no transparency.
