Of all the photos I’ve taken since Hurricane Dorian, this is perhaps my favourite, because it so clearly illustrates the resilience of Abaconians.

Though her shop building has been destroyed all around her, Minerva Sawyer of Green Turtle Cay’s Lowes Food Store & Gift Shoppe continues running her business.
We are now eleven months post-Dorian. And through power and water outages, Covid-19, the heat of the summer and what I imagine is probably some of the worst months of their lives, Abaconians soldier on, as resolutely as ever.
I remain in awe of our family and friends as they face these challenging times with determination, humour and grace.
And though progress is definitely being made, Abaco still needs so much help. Please lend a hand if you can.
So amazing Green Turtle is the best!
Is that a recent picture?
That photo was taken end of February 2020.
