“Is it alive Mom, is it alive?” I’m going to guess if that sea star (or starfish as well call them here in PNW) had twitched or moved even one mm Wrigley would have been either in your arms or long gone down the beach! Does he toy with / chase hermit crabs? Cute picture Amanda.
Thanks, Gayle. He does this “lean in, back away quickly” thing with starfish and hermit crabs. Actually, I watch him pretty carefully when he’s out in the yard or near the beach… My fear is that he’ll go in for a sniff and a hermit crab will latch on to his nose. Wouldn’t work out well for Wrigley or the crab. 🙂
