Hi I was just wondering how is the crime rate ? Because I’m hearing different things. I want to bring my boat over like I did years ago and leave it and travel back and forth from the states. But I’m hear it’s not safe to leave it unattended. What is going on ?
Hi, Bill. In terms of serious crime, I don’t think the stats have changed all that much since pre-Dorian. Anecdotally, I’ve probably heard of more thefts since the storm, but to be honest, they’ve generally had to do with building materials — which as you can imagine are often in short supply in Abaco right now. I have no doubt that Abaco is still far safer than most North American destinations, and I think most people still feel incredibly safe here, but you might want to post your question on AbacoForum.com, as there are likely others doing what it is you’re thinking of doing, and they may be able to give you more specific advice.
