Congratulations to Green Turtle Cay sixth-grader Grace Russell, who won a $1,000 scholarship at the Bahamas Primary School Awards held in Nassau on May 21.

A student at Amy Roberts Primary School here on the cay, Grace was one of 110 Bahamian primary school students (including 12 from Abaco) honoured at the award ceremony.
In addition to her scholarship, Grace received a medal of honour from Governor General, Dame Marguerite Pindling at a reception held at Government House.

Congratulations to Grace and to all our Abaco students on their achievements!
UPDATE: I just learned that Grace is holding a sidewalk bake sale today (July 29) near the Down Through liquor store. According to her mom, Grace is going on a trip in August and wanted to earn her own money for it. Glazed and cinnamon swirl donuts, chocolate chip brownies and cookies, banana bread, pineapple cake and cinnamon buns will all be available starting at 9:00 a.m. If you’re on the cay, stop by and pick up a treat!
