Recommendations for a 18 day stay on Abaco

We will be visiting Abaco for 18 days, flying into Marsh Harbor. What are the most recommended cays to spend a couple of nights vs. day trips? How would you split this trip up, what are the must see cays? We have read that getting a boat is the best way to island hop but do we rent boats at each cay we visit (as I am sure there are boundaries) or do we rent a boat to keep for the entire trip? Recommendations on house and boat rental companies would be helpful!

Heading to Green Turtle Cay in June. Plane lands at Marsh Harbour Airport, and I know that we need to take a taxi to the ferry terminal. Will taxis already be available at the airport, or do we need to schedule one in advance? Any recommendations for a taxi, or who to call?

Hello all. I am seeking some historical information on Joe Bookie. Does anyone know who he was? There is an area near Winding Bay in Central/South Abaco by Pete's Pub called Joe Bookie's Bay. I would like to know who the bay was named after. All my searches have been fruitless.

I am so appreciative of this forum but I so, so, so miss the Abaco forum and all the people I have only ever known digitally here (for 25 years or more)... we are headed to Hopetown in June- first time there since Dorian (have been to GTC twice in the interim and TC once) and so miss being able to ask trusted advisors to answer questions and steer me to what I need to find. Cheers and fins up to any of you "oldies" like me who may see this. Miss you guys!
