To protect the health and well-being of all who live in or visit the Bahamas, the Bahamian government has implemented a number of COVID-19-related protocols and measures that apply to Bahamian citizens, residents and visitors.
BEFORE YOU TRAVEL
Effective 20 September 2022, the COVID-19 testing requirement for entering The Bahamas has been dropped. Travellers, regardless of vaccination status, are no longer required to submit COVID-19 test results to enter the country. Furthermore, no COVID-19 testing is required for anyone travelling domestically within the country.
DURING YOUR STAY IN THE BAHAMAS
- All Bahamians, residents and visitors must adhere to current Bahamian Covid-19 health measures including mask use as required, proper hand washing and sanitizer use and physical distancing. A $250 fine or a penalty of one month imprisonment or both, will be enforced for visitors or residents found not wearing face masks in areas where they are required.

All very helpful. Thank you for these updates. What protocol is followed on mailboats and ferries? Are all still transporting passengers and is there anything extra required beyond what is required to enter the country?

I’m talking inter-island. I have a guy checking for me. Some boats aren’t taking passengers right now. Will let you know what I find.
Ah, ok. I know that Travel Visas are no longer required for inter-island travel. This is the latest guidance I can find on inter-island travel, but I’m still trying to confirm it, since other parts of the same document are now outdated:
Unvaccinated Travelers departing from New Providence (Nassau), Paradise
Island, Grand Bahama Island (Freeport), Eleuthera or Inagua to any other
island; are required to present at check-in a Negative RT-PCR Test result taken
no more than three (3) days prior to travel date.
Fully Vaccinated Travelers departing from New Providence (Nassau),
Paradise Island, Grand Bahama Island (Freeport), Eleuthera or Inagua to any
other island; will be required to present at check-in their Vaccination Card and
either a negative RAT or RT-PCR Test result taken no more than three (3) days
prior to travel date.
