According to the countdown clock on its new website, there are just 23 days to go until the 2018 Island Roots Heritage Festival!
Here’s the latest festival news:
LAST CALL FOR FESTIVAL PROGRAM ADVERTISERS
April 15 is the FINAL deadline for booking ads in the IRHF 2018 event program.
One of the ways the IRHF organizing committee raises the nearly $50,000 required to stage the event is by selling advertising in the festival program. If you operate a business or own a vacation rental in Abaco, I hope you’ll consider running an ad.
Several thousand Abaconians and visitors attend the three-day event, making the festival program a terrific, targeted way to promote your business. Plus, as thanks for your support, you’ll be recognized verbally throughout the weekend by the master of ceremonies, as well as on the Island Roots Heritage Festival website’s Sponsors Page.
For full details, including ad sizes and rates, please see Advertising in the IRHF Program.
IRHF SPEAKER SERIES
The committee has now confirmed its roster of presenters for the 2018 speaker series. They include:
- Wayne Neely, meteorologist and author
- Peter J Roberts, administrator of the Bahamas DNA Project
- Tim Roberts, journalist from the Abaconian
- A representative from the Bahamas National Trust
- Me! I’ll be presenting a talk entitled “The Golden Age of Green Turtle Cay.” Hope to see you there.

VENDORS WANTED
April 12 Update: All vendor spaces for the 2018 festival have now been filled.
If you’re a Bahamian artist, artisan or craftsperson, the Island Roots Heritage Festival offers you an ideal venue to display and sell your creations. There are still a few spots open for vendors at this year’s festival. See IRHF Vendors for full details.
