Do you have roots in Green Turtle Cay? Were your GTC ancestors’ surnames Cooper, Curry, Gates, Hodgkins, Key, Levarity, Lowe, Malone, McIntosh, Pedican, Reckley, Roberts, Russell, Saunders or Sawyer?
If so, I’d love to include their photos in the book about Green Turtle Cay’s history on which I’m currently working.
With every year that passes, we lose a little more of Green Turtle Cay’s history to time. My goal is to record as many stories and images of our ancestors as possible, so they’re available for future generations.

Amanda, my great-grandpa, Duncan Lowe Sr, 1844-1921, was born at GTC. He married a Marsh Harbour belle, Eliza Sawyer, and he moved there. Their younger son, Eldred Lowe, 1881-1960, achieved qualifications as a surveyor after correspondence course in Mathematics. His name appears on much of the early 1900s Abaco lands surveyed.
I donated to Albert Lowe Museum his Correspondece Course volume that he gave to my brother, Buddy, as a teen. I have photos of Duncan Lowe and Eldred Lowe.

My wife’s great-grandfather was Roland H. Curry, (b. 1870) Green Turtle cay. He went onto become the Sheriff of Key West, Florida in the early 1900’s Died 18 May 1926 Key West, Florida. I am not certain precisely who his father was and/or if he is related to your Thomas Curry above. I would be glad to exchange information if you are interested. Although Roland was born in Green Turtle Cay, he distinguished himself in the US. Let me know.
