I love all of the things that you do to promote the island! My grandfather was born and raised on the Cay, and later moved to the states. Since has retired many years ago and moved back to Black Sound. I will be visiting there in about a week! Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the web site.

End of May is a great time to go — not yet too hot, but the windy season will have passed, and the ocean will likely be lovely and warm. My greatgrand mother was born and grew up on Abaco she was a Lowe, Lenora,moved to Key West.

We are visiting GTC in December and are bringing two small children. I’m wondering if you know if it would be possible to set up car with car seats in Marsh Harbor? Hoping to secure our two wiggly little opens. Thanks in advance for any insights!

Hello, love reading your blogs. We just visited GTC for the first time last year after finding out my husband’s family originated from there. Turns out Alton is a cousin of my F.I.L but he wasn’t there on the Island when we went. We will be there in 6 weeks again and this time he will be there, so they can meet up and learn more about their family history together. We loved the Island and it’s all the boys talked about since we left…lol It reminds us so much of old Key West, which is where we all originally are from. Well have a good day! =)

Planning a fishing trip to Green Turtle Cay this summer. What fishing license will I need? How much does a fishing license cost?
Will everyone on the boat need a license?
Can I get a 1 week license ?

Hi, Michael. Thanks for your note. I know there have been some changes to fishing licenses and regulations in recent years, and I don’t want to give you outdated info. Best thing to do is to contact the Marsh Harbour office of the Department of Marine Resources at (242) 699-0202. Hope that helps!
Love your blog. We will be staying in a neighboring little house by the ferry at Capn Sam’s in four weeks can’t wait! My brother and family will be moored out at Donny’s I believe. So nice to have been able to read up about the area. Coming from Seattle, WA so can’t wait for that blue water and sunshine!
